Kat has given us some excitement in her new line of shoes this week! We first got a sneak peak of the line back in January. So where are these shoes being made? As you all know they are VEGAN! in Mid-September Kat has posted she was on her way to Italy (with Mom Von D) to the factory that will be making her shoes. From there we found out it was being made by Mink shoes. Who are Mink? Here is what their site says:
Mink is a vegan shoe line that sidesteps leather for eco-friendly, animal-free materials. It has rapidly outpaced all its competitors in the arena of “green” footwear. Mink shoes are made in the same prized Italian factories that produce Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, Dolce and Gabbana and more all without harming animals people or the planet. Every new style is perfected in fit, look and quality before even being considered for production. Each shoe is hand crafted by 4th and 5th generation shoe masters.
Three years of development went into the first collection. Mink shoes are assembled using materials from sustainable resources such as wood, cork, bamboo, non animal glue, vegetable resins, organic and recycled fabrics. Every pair of Mink Shoes has a personality of its own with each shoe named after the animal that inspired its creation. Since its launch in 2004 Mink has been featured in numerous press and adorned the feet of the most famous women in the world.
Dazzling and unabashedly sexy, Mink shoes effortlessly reflect Rebecca’s own sensibilities with their effervescent glamour and towering heels, which effectively elongate a woman’s legs and give her a confident posture. But perhaps more importantly, the line proves Rebecca’s conviction that a non-leather alternative can outperform traditional shoes. Machine-tested for durability, Mink shoes outlast their conventional counterpart thanks to Italian engineering.
Handmade in limited production; Mink is the highest quality vegan shoe available.

Here is a little time line of being introduced to Von D Shoes from January-September
Finally turned in all the content for my #vegan shoe line I plan on launching this year! Now maybe my office can go from looking like a serial [shoe] killer’s place back to normal. For now.
[been listening to “Mind Idea” by Jeremy Enigk on repeat for the past week, so figured it would be good to add it to this vid]

Then we didn’t hear anything until July when she posted
MY NEW #VEGAN SHOE LINE IS COMING TO LIFE! ❤🙃👠 The first round of prototypes just arrived to my house – here’s a tiny little sneak peek of 1 out of the 26 styles I’ll be launching with! To all my dear vegan + non-vegan friends, thank you for being so patient! I know how hard it is to find high-quality shoes with style that aren’t made from animal leather, fur, or use glues derived from horses+cows, and that you can afford! I’ve been working hard on getting these shoes perfect for you and hoping to launch the collection at the end of the year! And don’t worry, they’re not all going to be sky-high platforms – I got every style and sizes covered [including a few unisex pieces 👫]❤ #comingsoon #vegan #crueltyfree [song: “butterfly caught” by massive attack] [July 5th, 2017]
